i finished reading tuesdays with morrie yesterday. what a lovely book. i have had a few thoughts since but havent really been able to express them. this read left me with emotions i always had in me but didnt know how to express/feel. i believe i have a very "soulful" approach to love. i have always thought that but have never met anyone who feels so strongly about it. for the longest time, these thoughts stayed within me until i met my boyfriend. i am not sure how i express these feelings to him. it just happens. but then i completed reading the book. and wow. there are people out there who still hold love very very close to their heart. sometimes, i'd rethink my behaviour around people. i am very physically affectionate towards my partner. it's how i express love i guess. and i dont conciously do it. my hand just finds it's way to him. i dont know how to help it. like i said, i had been debating my behaviour. whether it was okay or not. whether it was too much or not. and i spent so much time thinking about how others perceive it that i forgot it was never about them. love the emotion, love the action is so personal. the world as it stands today has so much hate. and if i, in some corner of the world is able to express love without feeling like it's the wrong thing to do then what a blessing, right? when did holding your partner's hand, or keeping your hand on them become something to overthink? if we have to spend any time thinking about why we are so okay with expressing love then what a sad state of affairs. morrie, a man who's been married for 44 years reminds you that it's a privilege to be able to love and be loved. so if anyone finds themselves debating it like i was, just remember that being non chalant is not at all fun. let people know you're in love. let people how deeply you're able to love. you never know how it might change someone's perspective on love. i am so grateful to all the people i have met who were comfortable with expressing love. ah! it's a feeling that no one should feel the need to hide or tone down. you've got one life. if you spend that hiding how much love you have to offer then what a waste. let love flow through you. let it overwhelm you. it truly is one of the purest feelings in the world. and with the right person, it truly changes you for the better. my partner is definitely my muse. and the only reason i have been able to welcome new things/ideas is because i have made so much space for love in my heart. all beings are full of love and capable of love. you just have to give it space. and witness all the magic it has to offer.
