i moved to india a little over year ago from london. initially, i came just to see my mom but the situation changed and i ended up moving here. when i was leaving, my sister said: "what if you end up meeting the love of your life there?". she said that just to cheer me up because i had just resigned from a very toxic job. Post four months of living in india, i met my boyfriend! my favorite person. i think i have learnt a lot from him and the way he looks at the world. after spending significant time with him, i have always watched him tell people not to litter the roads. i always thought it's so brave because i couldnt imagine saying that to someone despite feeling it in my heart. but today, for the first time (after an entire year), i asked someone not to. of course i was very nervous and scared in a way but i did it regardless. it felt quite good. my life has changed a lot in the past year. i moved continents, dealt with a massive culture shift, learnt to make friends all over again, navigated taking care of my nani who doesnt keep very well, changed jobs, started a business and so much more i forget at the moment. but i didnt think my inability to speak out would ever change. and my blog so far might come across as me being a simp but i really respect my boyfriend for the person he is and not just the kind of partner he is. i find myself at a loss of words when i have to express how much he has changed my outlook on life. i wouldnt have ever started writing if i hadnt met him. so yes i give myself a pat on the back for all the things i have figured out alone. but at the same time, i believe he is my muse. and the best kind.
